Consideration for Choosing Your Bridesmaid's Dresses

Wedding is a special occasion in your life that needs to be celebrated with your near and dear ones to make it a memorable event. This is the time when you invite your closest friends and cousins to be your bridesmaid. Needless to say, the bridesmaids add a good touch of glamour to the wedding occasion along with the bride. Well, buying the right bridesmaid dress is just as important as the wedding gown for the bride.
1. Consider the preferences of your bridesmaids as much as your own. While you probably have fairly fixed ideas in mind about the ideal dress for your bridesmaids, but it's a good idea to ask your bridesmaids individually how they feel about your choice and to find out if there are elements that they'd like to contribute. For example, if your bridesmaids are shy girls, you'd better consider that they may not want to try on slit wedding dresses. So you need to communicate with them first before you choose the bridesmaid dresses.
2. Seek to complement your wedding dress. The bridesmaids' dresses work best if they support and reflect the bridal wedding dress without deflecting from it. Keep the bridesmaids' dresses simpler in design but clearly in line with the bridal gown by having some elements similar. If you are favor of the floral wedding dress, then your bridesmaid's dress had better be decorated with some flowers to complement the whole wedding.
3. Be considerate of your bridesmaids' individual concerns. Consider the heights, shapes and sizes of each bridesmaid and figure out the problem areas which they would like to hide. Since the body types of all the bridesmaids would be different, choosing a style which flatters everyone would be difficult. However you can go for princess skirts, empire waists or A-line as these styles look good on most types of figures.
4. Be thoughtful about future usefulness of the bridesmaids' dresses. It is a good idea to allow variations in style between the bridesmaids' dresses that reflect their physique and their wish to be able to wear the dress again for other formal occasions. Slight style variations are not such a big issue if continuity is maintained with color and some linking embellishments.
No matter which bridesmaid dresses you prefer, always keep in mind that the bridal gown is the most important dress, while the bridesmaids' dresses are the supporting cast.
